 Not my bike.
Got caught up in a Google vortex and stumbled across these.
 Interesting?

That is a great post!! I always assumed it was the Cat that reduced most of the noise on our bikes. That breadbox is super restrictive. Thank You!!

Thanks Cazzy_R.  I would imagine that the box is packed with fibreglass wool too. It is clearly a pulse diffuser, designed to comply with low noise regulations. Very interesting.  Hmm.

You could almost use those internals to connect a slip -on.

Maybe those chinese headers with the Loop are onto something, trying to make up for the lost volume of the bread box?

A guy could send a hole-saw into the output pipe and drill through the first internal elbow.  :084:
Depending on the diameter of the hole-saw, much of the exhaust that comes out of the header pipe would go directly out instead of winding its way around the breadbox.

This could either help the exhaust flow by creating a Venturi effect in the output tube or not. But it would free up a few decibels.

Great find. Google gold.  :028:

That's not as silly as it sounds, you would definitely get a bit more noise, and I think the flow would maybe improve if the hole lined up to the other pipe.
My luck would be if I drilled with  hole saw that the piece would fall into the muffler and rattle around for ever.  :019:

Great find on the pictures OP, I wanted to know what was in there.

What about using a step drill bit and placing the breadbox in such a way that you have to drill vertically from the bottom up?
