Socal Track Days
« on: May 24, 2018, 01:15:23 AM »
Hey all,

I live in Socal, and I'm wondering if anybody is interested in taking the Z's out to the track in June. I'd also appreciate track related guidance whether it's location or Z related. Mostly just looking for a partner/group, I think it would be cool if several Z's showed up to the track one day. I'd be interested in the novice group or even a novice track school/course.

PS. My bike is a daily commuter so I will not be setting it up 100% for the track, mostly looking to see what the bike can do with slight, necessary modifications for track.

PPS. Also interested in group riding the nearby mountains/canyons on weekends.

I live in the Oceanside area. Right between SD and LA. The main tracks I know near me are Buttonwillow and Willow Springs.

I'm riding La Rumorosa today, just south of the border... It's a mountain/canyon between Tecate to MexiCali.

Put "La Rumorosa" in Google Maps and you can get a general idea.

Im in Tijuana (gringo living there), so if you want to roll out with me today, message me and I'll give you my number.

I'm going to leave here in the next hour, unless you hit me up, then I can wait a bit.

That's a bit short notice, I already have plans for today.
Let me know if you ever go riding again in the area.

No worries. I ride all the time... Pretty much every day rain or shine. On the weekends I sometimes head up to Mulholland, out on Hwy94, or out to Palomar.

Come on down here and we'll get tacos and beer.

Also, I'd you have a Sena, then we can sync up.

I don't know about track days, but I'm definitely down for a meetup somewhere in SoCal for a canyon ride or something. Keep me posted please.

I ride Angeles Crest every weekend, if you're up in LA, let's meet up and ride. I haven't been riding in your area for a while, but Ortega Hwy would be worth the drive down there. Not too familiar with it, so would be nice to follow your line if you know that road.

Im definitely down for a ride this weekend. Ortega is great but I also like Santiago Canyon Road. Theres a little twisty, hilly bit around Modjeska Canyon that I really like. It not long at all but its a loop you can easily do 5 or 6 times before you tire of it. You can then take a break at Cooks Corner and head down Live Oak Canyon to Lake Mission Viejo and back. Not a long ride but definitely fun.

We could meet Saturday morning if you guys are up to it.
