Here is my take on it. I tried using  the original bracket in many different positions and drove myself mad in the end, I just wasn't happy with it.
So in the end I just drilled a hole through the centre of the original brace as in photo, did away with the rubber mount that was on the horn, unnecessary IMO as the brace I bolted it to is pretty well almost rubber mounted anyway, plugged on wires, it is a perfect fit, clears everything and hits nothing, and it seems very loud up there.

Thats a great setup GHH!
I think Ive used the horn twice in the last two years of ownership and I do t know if the car drivers even heard it; so if the horn is audible enough for any future unlikely police check then thats a great location for it.

I now know what my weekend project will be.
