Which engine protector/cover?
« on: August 15, 2018, 10:21:32 PM »
Did somebody have experiences with good engine protectors/covers?

I'm thinking about: https://www.gbracing.eu/+.1908.html

I know the original Kawa plastic rings are not good...
I have seen a lot of stuff from low money from China.

Maybe somebody hit the ground (of course I hope nobody) with some covers and can tell what cover have been installed and if the protected enough.

Thanks in advance! :)

I run the R&G covers. Great fitment and quality product as all R&G stuff goes. It also offers a blacked out engine. The R&G and GB racing use two different types of material. GB racing use glass filled nylon..R&G use polypropylene  Havent had to use them. Heres a couple pics though of what r&g look like.

The bike is looking very nice and the covers are smooth.
Im also thinking about carbon covers from Carbon Adi. They are with steel inserts for longer slides.

They look very cool and the price is okay, but how do they attach? I don't see any screws holes.  :027:

Tighten it 'til it strips then back it off half a turn.

I'm a big fan of the matte gbracing covers.

I'm in the same position. Next thing I need to buy are case covers. I will probably end up going with the GBracing because I really don't like how the R&G ones look. They have a weird rounded blob like shape to them which in my opinon doesn't match the bikes sharp lines and styling at all.

Everyone has an opinion and some like the R&G covers but I was not one of them ... I bought the R&G covers and returned them the next day. I am not knocking R&G in general because I have used their products but the engine covers are just that; COVERS, very thin and bulbous ( thanks you zed  :169: )  looking. When on the bike they just didn't go with the bike and I saw them offering no except potentially in a standing still tip over.

Got the GB Racing covers turning up on Wednesday. Only disappointing thing is that I wish they covered the whole casing like the R&G ones do, but I just dont like the R&G covers. They look a bit too bubble like or rounded for my taste and would rather have a little bit of the case showing than putting on covers I dont like.
