Luggage question
« on: November 02, 2018, 11:26:28 AM »
So I sent an email to Shad, they say they donít have any fitting for the 2018 abs model but they have the fitting for the 2017 model. My question is, is it built the same way? Are they any difference in the 2017 and 2018 model?

I may be wrong but as far as I am aware, they are exactly the same. Only difference is the colour schemes.

It looks like a nice set up! Is it long to take it on/off? Iím thinking to only have it when I leave for a road trip!

Iím going to a bike show in Montreal in February, will try to speak to the kawa dealer and asking whatís the difference between both years. Shad clearly doesnít plan to built a mount system for the 18.

Thanks for the pictures! Are you planning to have the Shad top case too one day?

Yes, i used only for the trip. You can take it off in 5-10 minutes, or riding with mounting system on (second picture). No top case is a little bit to much, and for me is 40 litres enough for trip. Second problem is (with top case) to much weight on back of bike. Better use tank bag, or saddle bag on passenger seat.
Here are the pictures:
ps. sorry for my bad English  :034:

I put on a Givi rear rack with a 46 liter topcase, soft saddle bags across rear seat & duffel bag across rear seat .This setup was for my last 800 mile camping trip. No problem with any wind . Got 46 - 50 mpg going 55-75 mph. Coming home 75 miles was down hill thatís when I got 50mpg. Soft Saddle are real easy to put on & take off & a lot cheaper, mine even have a rain cover. Iíve never had a problem with a topcase on any bike .
