Issue with the back Break-- Making sound and over heating
« on: November 06, 2018, 07:38:50 AM »
Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem, I got my First servicing done at 6000km and the mechanic said that the break pads were used up.
So he it put a new set of break pads tat the back and since then it makes a sequencing  sound and I have also noticed that the Rotor and the  caliper gets heated up pretty quick (even at short rides of 12 km)

I was just wondering if anyone has any thoughts around what could be wrong.. got another mechanic to check and he said all the setup is normal.

Regards
Paul

Sounds like you've had a seized piston or your caliper isn't floating from day one.
6000km is very early for rear pads unless you are a heavy user.

Are you sure your foot isn't resting on the brake.

No I make sure that I dont touch the breaks when not in use (foot isn't resting on the brake). I have adjusted the free play on the back break and that has made a difference.

What is freeplay on the rear brake? Did you mean lever angle?
