I too was confused because first he said $6750 "out the door" but later said $8400 after fees. But yea, in 99.9% he meant $8400 out the door. I can't imagine anyone every paying $6750 OTD.

Anyways, I still think this is a pretty good deal.

Yeah out the door figures can be widely different state to state. Technically I paid $8100 for mine, but add on a ridiculous Colorado tiered sales tax @ 8% plus an ownership tax of 2.6% of MSRP and I walked out at $9200.

Colorado is not a buyer friendly state.

I've listed the bike on CL for $6400. I'm going to lower the price after each payment essentially just trying to sell it for exactly what I owe. Fortunately, I have a super low rate at 4.25% which is pretty awesome for a motorcycle loan.

similar, i paid $7800 OTD in TX for same model. i could care less what they put the "sales price" at, that's just paper math for the dealer as far as i'm concerned. they could have sold the bike $2k with a $5k dealer prep fee for all i care. only amount that matters is my OTD

OP, i don't think 6400 is unreasonable
but don't be surprised if you have to wait until it drops to around $6k, then i figure it should sell pretty fast at that price.
who are you to tell me i can't smoke a cigar and eat a cheeseburger while texting on my motorcycle?!?!?!?

Base Price $6706 +  Freight 600, handling 400, Doc Fees 175, Vehicle and Sales Tax 395, License Fees 25. Final price was actually $8,300 for my new 2017 ABS Z900.
Another dealer asked me why I bought it from them and they could not believe the price. They would have started with base price of $8,799 and added fees on from there. As I said, I left skid marks out of there when I wrote the check.

It all sounds very complicated. Here in the UK, the price quoted by the dealer is what you pay. There is no tax, freight, handling....etc. It's an all inclusive price.

it doesn't have to be and / but states do collect taxes differently, plus some dealers through this crazy low price to bring you in. Then they tell about the FEES ....freight and prep fees once you are there lol on ... all a numbers game. Building a relationship with your dealer helps tremendously specifically on the backside of the deal
