Fuel Tank removal
« on: January 09, 2019, 06:30:45 PM »
Hey all,
I am in the process of tearing down the bike in order to custom paint it and need to remove the tank. Do I need to drain it or is there a check valve that stops it from leaking fuel once the connector is removed? I have a full tank and would rather not drain it !

There is a check valve but /and she will be heavy. You will want to drain the tank to paint her......I suggest draining

Also, prepare a cozy landing area for the tank once you remove it. Sometimes you take it off only to realize there's no place to set it down.
(Not me of course but I've heard of this happening).  :164:

Thanks for the info guys ! Helped out a lot . The tank didnt leak at all and the line leaked just a tad and stopped once I rotated it up . I love the ease of disassembly on this bike ! I cant wait to see the end product !

yup......naked....  Love Kawi but not a fan of the green.... so frame went black .rest of the bike gonna be pearl white (gold shimmer) and black with gold accents... rims will be powdered white . Gonna do the 8.00 exhaust tip too! Are you producing those ? I saw that you sold one to somebody !
