theft security .. what do you use for your Z 900 ??
« on: January 10, 2019, 07:35:32 PM »
I wonder what others use to secure their Z 900...  :187:

Do you have it inside? .. Do you have a garage? .. what chain are you using ? .. what padlock and so on ...

When the season are here my bike are locked inside a form of shared garage, we all have our own entrance but there are no walls seperating the parking spots..
I use a almax immobiliser 19 mm with a abloy lock 362 padlock

I am thinking about getting a anchor to make it even more secure..

So let me know, how do you secure your z 900 ? ...

In my garage and in my business, if I'm out, I got a lock.

I bought a Scorpio alarm, spent the time installing it, routing everything, even had them make me a custom cable harness so I don't have to splice anything.

In the 5 months it was installed in my bike, the alarm went off only twice. Both times in the middle of the night in the garage. Then the remote died, and got a new one. Then the new one wouldn't sync. I ripped that crap out of my bike, reclaimed my trunk space, and stopped worrying about it.

When locked in my garage, I use Almax 16mm chain with Squire SS65CS padlock, hooking though a 'Y' Anchor ground anchor to the bike's rear wheel and swing arm, plus a bright yellow Oxford disc lock on the front.  When I'm out and about I just use the Oxford disc lock.

I've invested in a GPS tracker to second my disc brake locker:

https://spydk.dk/shop/danmarks-billigste-gps-194p.html

Its small, got a magnetic backside, prepared for usb charging, easy to setup and has worked perfectly for the 6 months I used it. Tons of functions:

- returns GPS coordinates every 30 seconds (set up your own interval or none)
- 3-dimensional touch sensor (if the z900 is touched with a finger you instantly get an sms alarm on your mobile with full GPS coordinates - enable/disable with a simple sms)
- geo-fencing (alerts you if bike moved outside an agreed area)
- speed alert (nice when your brother promised to stay under 140 mph)
- call the z900 (phone your bike and listen to sounds and conversations taking place around the bike environment!!)
- SOS alarm (calling up to five friends with GPS coordinates stating you need urgent help)

and then some more functions  :002:

You communicate with the unit via short sms/text messages. The GPS unit has given me some nice piece of mind  :002:

I am using a standard brake disk lock and a device called Monimoto... https://monimoto.com/product/monimoto-smart-tracker-system/

I really like the Monimoto...it will call me if bike moves and then follow up with a GPS location for the bike.
