Revving engine in neutral

Hello everyone ,i jus have a big doubt is it really bad to rev the engine i neutral??
First of all i jus got my Z have done around 120 kms so have to maintain below rpm 6!! i am addicted to sound of the bike i jus like to rev at times so i jus get tempted and do it during signals ........ll it hurt the engine real bad????

Help me out folks!!

 If you want to look like a knob head, rev the bike up at the lights
