It's good when you buy a bike that's been around for a few years because usually by then all the experimenting has been done and the results have been posted.
Here with the z900  it is us that are the original modifiers.

yup and fun to do too  :821: The Z9, she really is an awesome well sorted bike for the masses but my mind always races.
my list is a 520 conversion going up 2 or 3... the front is already a 15 so I cant drop it.....No hurry to do but on my list
the 190 / 55 measures to fit just not sure if it is worth it because she all ready handles very well on middle of the road tires.... but inquiring mind wants to know lol.
I will see if I can soure a couple pieces of plastic otherwise I have a bit of painting to do come winter  :028:
Also, I want /  need to figure out if the SHAD cases will work with which after market pipes or if there is a fitment issue there

A 190 tyre will raise the gearing.

Yes, the 190 / 55 is  about a 1/4" taller which would raise gearing  slightly and I honestly to not know what that translates too

A 190 will slow down turn in. I'd keep the 180, it's more than adiquate for the z900's power.
15 up front? Do you know what the rear is?

    rear is a 44
you just might be right ... I might be crazy  :176: :176: lol. I was feeling since the 190 / 55 was even taller it might turn in that much quicker. Again, she handles very nice /balanced so the 190 / 55 might be too much

My Daytona 955i had 190/55. It was the only bike I owned with them. IIRC it weighed less than the z900 but felt much heavier on the turn in. The 190/50 were worse. The guy I sold it to said the same thing.
