Free / Must have mods
« on: May 23, 2019, 06:13:47 PM »
Hey everyone! Just bought a new z900 last Saturday and absolutely love it!!! I was wondering, are there any free mods or mods that should be done that will improve any aspect of the bike?

Thank you for any insight!

Nothing is free, but a fender eliminator is cheap! You can change the mirrors too for not much! Enjoy your bike

Set the stock suspension up to your weight ( the best you can)
Adjust all the controls / levers to your riding style as well as headlight
Not free but close to it ..search the $8 exhaust mod
Swap out the stock 15 tooth for a 16 tooth front sprocket

And
Enjoy the ride

I'll have to look into setting that up, any recommendations for a skinny dude? Lol

What are the reasons for changing out the front sprocket? I don't mind losing top end, as I hit 90 yesterday and felt like I was gonna blow off it haha.

And thank you for the tip on the exhaust I'll look into that!

Turing the handle bar back was nice for me. I just loosened the clamp up and pulled it back some. I left a bit of room so it can go full lock with my hands on it without hitting.

Reposition the horn, it improves the aesthetics.

And thank you for the tip on the exhaust I'll look into that! the $8 budget was blown out of the water but for $20 and some DIY....best bang for the buck
