« on: June 22, 2019, 12:39:07 AM »
Has anyone traded in their 18 z900 or sold private party? Can you let us know what you got for it? IronManZ was quoted out at 5200. probably fair.
Both my bikes are for sale.

My experiences have always been a lot better selling to private party.  Its convenient to trade in if you dont mind getting screwed by dealer!!!

On a trade in. It often matters on what price range the new bike is.

I'd check more places and see what they all quote. Then go try to sell privately at a higher price. Its more of a hassle but you will always get more money privately. If people want the bike that is.

2017's in great shape and low miles are going (asking) for $6000-$6700 private in my area. Hope that helps.

Thanks all. Id love to sell it outright but the demand is low for this style around here and Ill be sitting on it for a while. But Ill list it and see what I can get.

I didn't trade in my Z900 but I traded in my Ninja 650 for my Z900 and I can share experience with that.

Bought my 2015 Ninja 650 used for 4000 cash (around 5000 miles). Had it for 1 year and put about 1200 miles on it. First stealership I went to told me it was worth next to nothing and verbally quoted me around 1000 dollar trade in. Told them they were out of their minds and they said that's the best anyone will ever offer me on trade in. Shopped around a bit and went to another stealership to which I gave them all the same info and told them I'd buy a Z900 on the spot if the trade in value was right for my Ninja 650. They offer me 4800...

The stealership I decided to buy my Z900 from was reasonable on the price they offered for the Z900 and blew everyone else away on their offer for my Ninja 650. They literally offered more than what I was going to post it on Craigslist for.

Play hard ball and look around.

P.S When they wanted to look at my bike for the quote I was missing a couple fairing bolts and they actually gave me new ones because the tech thought he lost them while taking my fairings off.  Left that day with a smile  :008:

I #### hate negotiations. I can do it I just rather not. Such a waste of time and energy but I fear you are right. Sadly there is but on triumph dealer near me so the bike I want is a bit of a drive to the next one. But maybe its a sign I need that Aprilia in my life after all. Lol
