fold in/up mirrors? (not bar end)
« on: June 25, 2019, 12:33:25 PM »
Hi everybody,

I'm trying to find fold in/up mirrors for my Z.
The main reason is that I can only get the bike in the house through a relatively narrow door.
With the OEM mirrors loosened and turned inwards I can wiggle the bars one way and then the other, and get the bike through the door (but only just, so bar end mirrors are not an option).
I'm getting tired of having to tighten/adjust the mirrors each time I take the bike out, so I'm trying to find a better solution.
Alternatively any setup that would allow taking off and reinstalling the mirrors more easily, is also an option.
All suggestions are welcome...

Thanks!
Tom aka. Whatts

Thanks ras, I had already come across the Touratech mirrors, but I'd like some form with my function  :002:
Round mirrors would like horrible on the Z900 I think...

I think the CRG LS's are nice for a rd mirror. You mentioned not barends but being lane splitters they might work perfectly for you.

The regular LS seems to be discontinued and the "Hindsight Lanesplitter" is the replacement (according to Revzilla).
Those look nice (and aren't expensive) but the inch or so they add to the width on each side, would make the bars too wide.
It really is that tight...

I've also had a look at the Z1000 OEM mirrors as there is an extra bolt there, but I'm not sure what that bolt actually does.
I'll ask my dealer for some more info on those.

I have these mirrors.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00RO9YIN0?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

They are smaller than the OEM ones and do not protrude wider than the handlebars. ie. the handlebars are wider than the mirrors. I bought them as I do a lot of filtering (lane splitting).

I also have these. They're rock solid and IMO they look better than anything else on the market that I could find(including the super expensive ones).

Do those mirror stalks bolt directly to the stock mirror holes or do you have to use the part they call the "mirror perch"?
These fit the style of the Z perfectly.
