Maybe I get worse mileage because of 95 octane.
The 98 octane is obviously more expensive, so I don't know whether it levels out in mileage.
What's the impression of you guys?

I use 93 octane. But I'm in the USA so our rating systems may be different.

Ive been pondering this subject again lately. I tend to fill up once per week for work but Ive noticed that I only ever put about 14 or so litres in, so last week I pushed on a bit further before filling up. I managed 178 miles on that tank and it took 15.95 litres to the brim, so well call that 16 litres. Based on those numbers, that gives me 50.5 mpg (UK) and means that Im getting 11.125 miles per litre, so the 17 litres in the tank should give me a range of 189 miles. Bit geeky perhaps, but I always think its worth knowing these sort of things.

Hi Rob, I ran clean empty out shortly after getting mine at 162 miles, she took over 17 litres to fill up when i pushed it to a fuel station, I think the v power type fuel gets you more to the gallon, if you commute & tour lots this is key info esp when the range calculator zeros out with 20 miles to go 👍🏍😎

I had that happen when I was pushing further last week. Turned the bike on and it said I had a 25 mile range. Carried on riding, looked again a bit later and it had gone blank. Made me laugh, its like the bike saying youre on your own from here lol.

What speeds are you doing.

When there's no traffic everybody's going about 90. When there is traffic it turns into stop and go  :157:

If it matters, I can only get my hands on AKI 93 octane premium, usually with ethanol.

I think it makes a difference. Not necessarily in power, but certainly in range. I only use premium unleaded, which here in the UK is 97-99 octane, depending on which brand you use. Standard unleaded is 95 octane here, we don't get anything lower than that.

The stop and go will kill the mileage.

Is that 90 MPH or 90 KPH. If MPH, might want to move up to a 16 tooth sprocket in the front.

Ah! Let's talk about numbers!  :152:
(Numbers below are in average standard deviation).
My mileage Excel sheet (:015:) tells me that on average, I put 14.30.5 litres (3.80.1 US gallons) in the tank.
The fuel I use is EuroSuper E10 (95 octane, 10% ethanol).
This tank of petrol takes gets me going for 21810 kilometers (1356 miles).
The fuel consumption is then about 6.6 litres/100km or 35.5 US MPG or 9.37 miles per litre or 15.1 km per litre.

So, as said earlier in this thread, the not-so-fantastic-mileage is probably because of short commutes, stop-and-go traffic, etcetera.
Mileage was lowest when I had longer trips at more constant speeds (as expected). But even at 6.0 litre/100km, it's not THAT fantastic...
