Hello from Thailand
on: July 23, 2017, 05:35:29 PM
I live in Bangkok, Thailand but am from the UK originally. Just bought a Z900 two weeks ago and have done the first 600 miles /1000km on it (first oil change due this coming week). Very very pleased with the bike so far and Thailand has some great rides once you get out of the city.

I've made just a few mods so far: crash protectors, some CRG (copy) arrow bar end mirrors, and a black rad guard. Got some bobbins coming soon and will install a fender eliminator once our rainy season is over. The bike is the mystic grey colour / black (with green frame).

Thanks!

I got the CRG Arrow bar end mirrors (see link below). They are similar to these (but a copied version for about $30). Quite happy with their look, but the field of view takes some getting used to.

Thanks!

It will go on for another 3 months or so, but there are plenty of dry periods where I can get out and about. It tends to come down hard and heavy for a short time - then gets real hot again! The roads soon dry up as well, generally.

Actually, I didn't fit them myself. The service centre did (parts ordered through them, inclusive of labour). The bar end protectors have to be removed, the mirrors fitted, and new ends put on. I tried to upload some images, but it wouldn't let me as they are too big. I'm trying the embed code to see if that works.

I was thinking of going back to stock as I have to flip them to get through traffic, and with the more limited field of view, you have to be very careful of people cutting you up on the nearside - especially in slow moving traffic. I'll persevere for a while though as I am slowly getting used to them.

The ends came with the mirrors. I still have the originals. :)
