on: July 27, 2017, 10:52:40 AM
Hi , I am looking to paint my rear Hugger the mystic pearl grey colour, same as the front fender.
Not having much luck on finding the Kawasaki paint codes on the internet or doctor Google.

Shops that mixes paint usually can shoot with a laser and get the color

http://www.rsbikepaint.com/en-us/colours.php?setlocale=true this site sells paint for bikes. That's the site my kawa dealer pointed me to
"Is your motorcycle not listed? If your particular color is not listed online, please email us to see if we can help."

I have used Color Rite in the past. The paint is spendy.
You might try your local auto parts store and see what they have, you might get something close enough for a hugger. You'll probably need a clear coat as well.

Thanks Ray, am heading to the auto paint shop tomorrow to see what they can do to mix up the mystic pearl grey.

To save some money on paint if you're not in a hurry...When you go to the auto body shop, you can ask the guy if you can leave the fender at his place and ask him to wait until he is priming and painting a car with a similar paint color and to spray it with his leftover paint. To match the color he may just have to adjust a little what he has left over. I'm sure the primer doesn't matter much.

My brother did this at a local shop. He sanded and primed the fender himself then left the fender at the shop. When the guy finally painted a black car he painted and clear coated the fender for something like 30 bucks. It took a few weeks though and he knew the guy, and black was easy.

You'll pay a lot more of the guy takes it on as a stand alone job and has to prepare, prime and paint the whole thing.
