$1 Dollar Brake Mod
on: August 24, 2019, 02:47:33 AM
I have made a modification on my bike that improves the power of my bikes front bike for cheap. I said one dollar but mine was free made from stuff I had laying around.
You can do the same.
It involves grabbing the front brake lever further out from the pivot point without thought.

I wrapped the hand grip with Velcro tape plus a couple of large o-rings.
What it does is it holds your hand further from its natural position from the grip stop. You get more leverage and better stopping power. It works great. Practically for free.
Normally your finger on the lever starts about 2 1/2 inches from its pivot point. This mod has you grabbing it 3 1/2 inches away. It makes a great improvement.
I can't post up pictures on this site but anybody interested I can email the pic and you will see how easy.

The Velcro worked fine but I had some big orings that I have used as a throttle lock of sorts. So I added a couple for some more space and a finished look.
I have a pic if somebody can post it for me.

I'm having trouble understanding this mod. Wouldn't the same thing be achieved by unbolting the whole master cylinder from the handlebar and then moving it a bit closer to the middle of the bike? :435:
