I use the evotech ones. They have plenty of clearance and are rock solid. You can't substitute for quality.

Another vote for the evotech spools. No problems at all.

I have a set of factory kawasaki ones and the are good. No problem with scratching or fitting. They have got a little shield on them to help protect the swing arm.

I have the R&G Racing Offset Spools that are also supposed to be protectors. However, as I found out today, you can't use them to remove the rear wheel when you get a stupid nail in your almost new tire.

They do look nice and do stick out some, and do kind of look cool back there.

OES
if you live on one of the only through-streets in town, and you complain and get a speed-bump installed; i will floor it and go as fast as i possibly can in between each and every one of them.

I picked up some M Factory delrin ones off Ebay for like $15, made a 1/2 aluminum spacer at work.
Gets the job done.

Wasn't that the problem you had when putting those on?
I would've just put a sticky string plug in that tire, left it all together.

When I had the bike in for the 600 mile, the tech said the R&G's looked cool and worked well, but that I wouldn't be able to take the tire off by myself.  I didn't really think about what he meant, since I don't tend to take the tire off myself. Now I know why I might want to, to get it patched from the inside if I don't use the stick string or mushroom thing I am reading about.

I didn't call my real Kawi dealer, I knew what they would say. I tried the custom bike shop less than 2 miles away (Garwoods, whose owner just died about a month ago), not a franchise dealer, they said policy didn't let them patch but said many guys do. They said most people either go higher end or cheaper to a Shinko or they stock GPR 300's which are close to the same tread if I didn't want to wait but could order anything. It's winter, I think I'll try patching and getting 1000-1500 miles on them before spring and then upgrade when the weather turns. If it stays cold all winter, I won't have new tires sitting on the concrete for 4 months.

Still....a flat at 700 miles  :232:

I got the stand at Harbor Frieght for 36 dollars.
I also got some spools from the dealer out of his catolog made for a Kawasaki z650.  For 30 dollars we will see if they work and go from there!  They are on order. I have been flying the apprentice s and also building a piper cub,  in the background of the pic
