Kawasaki ergo seat worth the effort
on: November 15, 2019, 12:37:45 AM
HI,

I come from a superbike background and although i love the z900, the low seat height is driving me crazy - makes me feel like I'm riding a cruiser. Is the "high rise" seat worth the effort? Does it raise you up on top of the bike? I am worried that its just a more padded seat, which will be softer but comfort is not an issue for me. For reference I'm 1.8m tall.

I bought one and believe me its no more comfort!! It does add a little height. I think another member had some custom seats done that gave him even more height than the oem tall seat. It was a current posting you should check it out.

The standard seat is woeful.  After a test ride the first question I asked was about the availability of a better seat.  I wouldn't have bought it without it.  It changes the bike completely.
The fact that it exists at all shows that Kawasaki knew from the beginning that this was going to be an issue.
Z900 Performance Edition  Akrapovic ASZT can Delkevic headers  Bar end mirrors  High seat  R&G rad guard   R&G tail tidy  Chinese levers Hyperpro fork spring kit.  Supersprox Stealth rear sprocket.  Nitron NTR1 shock absorber.

I still did a 1400km ride with the stock seat. Wasn't able to do any exercice the next week but it's just a detail haha

To be honest the stock seat feels like a sofa compared to my track bikes.. lol I just want a higher seat.. if its soft I guess It wont change the ride height much.

I have just fitted the ergo seat , its hard like the other , But as it is flat you do not keep sliding forward and getting great pain in your man hood , also it greatly improves riding position - height . So put those two things together for me its well worth changing , also I have just had the rear seat modified today ( pictures just uploaded ) 300 Thai bht , or in English less than 10 , my wife says its now perfectly comfortable .
