I use Kawasaki OEM, but Hiflofiltro is pretty good for aftermarket.

Some bad reports floating around on the K&N (seal failures etc), but I've used them once with no issue. The hex bolt on it made it easy to remove.

:112: :112: :112:   i was just about to go for K&N oil filter, as my friend highly recommended them.
ive used HIFLO before, no complaints.....

so should i stay or should try K?N  :112:

I heard hiflo used to make k&n and that now they are better quality than k&n for less. Who knows just what I read somewhere? I havent had problems with k&n or hiflow. I think I read they weren't letting people use k&n on some tracks?

Recall of previous bad batch

https://www.knfilters.com/recallkn204

Numerous reports on other MC forums around 2017, seems like it was a combination of manufacturing defect (spot welds around hex nut) and user error (doing up the filter too tightly using this nut)

Various voices claiming the quality dropped when they moved from using Hiflo in Thailand as their manufacturer to a cheaper factory in China. Others saying the threads weren't tapped straight and thus they weren't sealing properly at the sump.

There's a class action here: https://www.consumerclassactionlawyers.com/kn-oil-filter-failure-in-motorcycles-and-powersports-class-action-lawsuit-investigation.html

Google is your friend

Like I said earlier, I used one once before with no problems, but don't really see the point now. Hiflo do the nut thing as an option now.

I used Hiflo HF303 on my Z750 for Years, very good quality, and cheap here in Croatia (5.5-6$ US). OEM Kawasaki cost almost triple the price.
Planning to continue with Hiflo - both oil and air filter for Z900.

204rc? For the Z900 2018 abs it was HF303 for me.
