You just slide it in between the header and slip on and it stays in place without anything else done?

The one i have is as you described.

The one you posted a photo above actually goes to the end of the exhaust can and fixed in place with a small bolt (you see it in the pic)

I have the 3rd option wich cuts the noise quite to acceptable level.

Almost every full system on the Z is loud. Mine is freaking loud since the slip on is really tiny.
The sound is beautiful so it depends what you are looking for. If you dont want to get attention from the cops or neighbours, dont go full system.

What years of you bike?? I saw the spec,  2020 model (the latest model) is much louder then previous.

I had the Akra ASZT shorty on mine with Delkevic headers and yes you could hear it from miles away.
Z1000.  I had a 900 so you'll never get rid of me. NEVER!

Have you try put the baffle in?? still very loud??

Or have you flash/remap your ECU??

I got 2018 Z900. I had Akra ASZT short slip on with stock header. I only can barely hear a little sounds on the road. And no sounds on the high way.

I saw data, 2020 model is much louder than all previous models.  Stock sound (93db) already almost the same with 2019 model + Akra shorty.

Akra dB killer is a waste of time.  Never got round to a remap. I reckon it doesn't make much difference which headers you use in terms of power gain.  The weight saving makes a massive difference.

I found this db killer 53mm just fit akra shorty size. And wrap with wadding. It will reduce the sound a lots

I have the Akrapovic headers and both "shorty" as well as "regular" Akra mufflers. For the shorty, I have used it without the dB kiler, and it is loud, and sometimes hits a frequency or pitch that bugged my ears, so the dB killer helped with that, but it is still loud with it installed. For around town, I have the regular Akra installed - sounds good and not too loud, not too quiet. Good for lane splitting :)

Do you stop on the outskirts of town to swap the mufflers over 🤔     😂😂
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure!
