Your dealer is a muppet.

Here's a copy of a posting that I made on another forum in 2017, when I was probably the first person in the country to own a Z900 and Kawasaki hadn't even listed all of their accessories. For your reading pleasure.

Most generic swingarm stand bobbins come with 40mm bolts. You will need a longer 50mm bolt of 8mm thread diameter to fit a generic bobbin to the Z900. Here I have used 5 washers to create a spacer of approximately 10mm width.

This permits the bobbin to clear the swingarm offset.

I use Black Widow stands.
Spools are M-factory (off Ebay) + made some 1/2 aluminum spacers at work, longer metric bolt.
Easy.

I use Abba: https://abbastands.co.uk/product-detail.asp?item=bobbin-hub-adapters&pid=45 (I have the "Superbike Stand" so this is an obvious choice to have on the right side also)
I also scratched the left side before having these. Put a block of wood (4x2 inch) under the foot stand before lifting.

Edit: After 27000 km I'm in a point where a few scratches here and there no longer matter, just gonna ride her like there's no tomorrow  :001:

My spools came in today.  I am using a Vortex rear stand that I found used (came with the head lift stand too).  Before the spools I was just using the lifting it on the swing arm.  Spools came with some plastic sliders on the end and they rest on the the top of the stand when the bike is lifted.
Found these on Amazon for $26, but these green ones were $13.
