Motul 7100 4T 10W-40 since the first oil change. 14k miles without any clutch issues.

Staying somewhat on topic, how often do you guys change your oil?  Per the owners manual it's 600 miles, then 7600 miles.  That seems a bit far out to me.  I was planning to do every 3000 miles; only at 2600+ at the moment.

I go by the manual but after that first 600 mile service, the rest are easier to remember with a nice round number like 5,000. Oils are so much better than they used to be, and going 5,000 between changes isn't harmful IMO.

Which Rotella are you using now?  T6 5W-40 (or) T6 15W-40

I use Motul 300V ... have done so for almost 30.000 km now with no issues and gear shifts are perfect and smooth .. My official kawasaki dealer also puts motul 300V on all Z900 .. I plan on using 300V in the future

I asked my kawasaki dealer straight up if he recommended 300v or 7100 and he said that both oils where good but the 300v was a little better (also for street) and since that what they dealer are putting in I cant what the issues should be .. as I said .. Almost 30.000 km with no issues

anyone uses Putoline oil? i have puto lines oil at home fully synthetic (N-TECH PRO R+ 10W-40) and wondered if theres any good\bad experience out there with using it with the z900 i am a little worried about the clutch because so many people here seem to have slipping problems and premature ware, and does someone uses castrol Castrol 4T Power 1 Racing? it has a very appealing price point for what it claims to be.

I have used Castrol 4T Power 1 Racing with no clutch slip issues. I felt that the shifting was smoother with it than the Motul 5100 it replaced,
 No experience of Putoline.
Tighten it 'til it strips then back it off half a turn.

sounds good to me, it is pretty cheap compared to other fully synthetic oils and half the price of motul v300 that for some reason cost like its made off gold and black truffles (:
