Messed with it a little today. Tried it out with some vinyl to see what finishing it will need and how the height/angle feels. It actually feels amazing at a stand still. I may take it out for a ride when its dry to see what adjustments it needs. The squish level is pretty sweet too. Though Im not going for a soft ride, the foam underneath, though firm, is still softer than the plastic seat pan. I dont see why the expanding foam wont hold up as a base. I put it on the concrete and stepped on it several times. It doesnt collapse and springs right back into shape. Heres some progress photos. Looking a little like Warmweathers seat at the moment.  :490:

I went for a test ride yesterday with the seat version in above photo. The added height put a little more weight on my hands and the angle was more flat. I thought the angle would feel better for longer, but after returning to stock today for a ride, turns out Kawasaki knows what theyre doing with the slight rise in rear. I know some have commented on sliding forward with the stock seat but I dont have this issue. The rear is angled just enough to keep you in position under acceleration. So Im going to take some height off of the front to match the stock angle.
The height didn't change my leg position as much as I hoped while riding either. Higher peg position combined with a higher seating position seems to be the only cure. Handling as a whole didnt feel much different beside the higher position. Think Z900 RS. So Im going to adjust a little and move forward. If nothing else, I prefer the higher position.

Its good to see people doing something to fix the hard low seat!  There will be a little more pressure in your wrist,  but I get use to it after about 30 min of riding.  Try some gel or soft foam near the top for a better feel on your buttocks.

Im just looking for a different height. Comfortable seats have been covered by yourself and others. The seat firmness doesnt  bother me with the type of riding I do. I appreciate the input though.

Get the oem tall seat if your mod dont work out. I think you will like it. I havent noticed any extra pressure on my wrist. Was different at first just being taller but got use to it pretty fast. I did notice it was hard for me so I scooped out a section and replaced with a softer foam that sits on top of hard layer and now its comfortable also.

Same firmness as stock or softer. Because softer would collapse more and defeat the purpose for me. Im not going to buy one either way, but just curious. Thanks.

To me it was just as hard if not harder! Its just one piece of probably same foam just 1 taller. Thats why I had to remove a little off top and add some softer foam!! I wouldnt have bought it knowing it was that hard, I would have just added a layer of the soft foam to stock seat. I guess your  doing it right and saving $$!
