What watts resistor for LED turn indicator
on: June 30, 2020, 05:12:39 AM
Just upgraded my rear turn indicator to LED one and it blinking faster than OEM one.
My new LED indicator is 12V/1.5W. What kind of resistor I need put in?? I found there are 10W, 25W and 50W etc. Which one should I use??

I would buy an adjustable led flasher unit  a lot easier than putting in inline resistors being adjustable it would suit any configuration of lamps.
I have used these in the past but they do get quite hot http://vi.raptor.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemDescV4&item=233268062212&category=174060&pm=1&ds=0&t=1592052717000&ver=0
Better to arrive 10 minutes late in this world than to arrive years too early in the next.

You don't need adjustable...just search for "2 wire kawasaki flasher relay" on ebay. They are like $5 and perfect replacement. No need to rewire of adjust anything. The cheap one I got is going on 2 years...

I mentioned to get adjustable flasher unit as OP said he has only changed rear lights to led so a proper led only flasher unit may not work correctly with front lamp load.

Naaa...when I first changed only the rear to LED with OEM lights up front, the relay make everything flash normally.

The days of using resistors at each bulb are over (hopefully). Was such a crude method  :087:

Anyway I can confirm that with the cheap ebay relay rear led signals and normal front ones work perfectly.
I believe this is the one I got:
