Hi! Prospect Z900 owner
on: December 29, 2020, 10:26:08 AM
Hello everyone,

Currently I ride a 2010 Z750. I love the bike to bits but its suspension and brakes are not up to the task any more. I have been looking to upgrade to something better ( I was looking at the hyper naked sector MT 10, v4 tuono etc.) but after test riding the z900 last week I actually liked its manners more than the hyper nakeds as I mainly commute and go to the twisties once or twice a month. Sadly the Z900 i test rode only had 10 Kms on the clock so I couldn't push it or test it appropriately. I am looking for feedback to the suspension and brakes department, power is not a concern as all these bikes have more than enough. My reference point is my Z750 or a 2008 Z1000. Anyone here can do a comparison between these machines in terms of suspension and brakes?

My initial impression from the first test ride i got is that the brakes don't have initial bite but they are extremely progressive as you press on the brake lever. Suspension seemed compliant in the city over bumps.

Looking for your input as the z900 is most probably my next bike in the next couple of months.

Welcome
This has been asked and answered  several times recently, you can search multiple threads. The Z9 is heads and tails better then the gen2 Z1k ...
But as far as suspension / brakes  it is a budget liter with budget parts that will work for 90% of its buyers.

Welcome, glad you decided to join us. Everyone here has plenty of good to say about the Z900, and I agree it is an all around great bike. Sure some of the components are on the budget side but they all work well for typical riding and has more than enough power to keep you thrilled for a long time to come.
