Right? Sounds like the same old crossplane 4. What a curveball if they they put out a V4 though. Ducati does tear them up on the straights in Moto GP. Not that their street bikes are comparable.
  Fun to speculate though.

Looks like the Ninja 650 update needs another update already. I enjoy that motor personally, but Yamaha has really owned them with that CP2. Actually, looks like this is more aimed at the RS 660, but Kawi doesnt have an answer in that segment. Wondering if the traditional supersport is on its way out.

The engine is not up to the level of the bike. Front fork totally adjustable, monoshock 2 ways, radial master cylinder (brembo) and monoblock calipers, lighweight...

Kawasaki should cascade their supercharger knowhow into the 650-700 twin segment where would actually be of benefit.
Tighten it 'til it strips then back it off half a turn.
