Anyone racing the z900?
on: June 23, 2021, 05:50:06 AM
Hi,

Anyone racing the z900 cup or other racing series? Looking at pooling some of the development knowledge ie. Suspension set up / upgrades, gearing etc. specifically for the track.... Anything that would make the z900 more competitive and more track focused.

My bike 2018 z900
- Lower / wider bars
- Light Tech rearsets
- Evo tech crash protection
- DynoJet Power Commander ( yes i know flashing is better)
- K&n filter
- ebc brake pads
- Higher seat

Issues
Not confidence inspiring, slow on corner exit..... No front end or braking feel.

Well no I am not racing on a track no. It wont be confidence inspiring if you are on stock tyres. Next is suspension upgrade, and you will have all the confidence in the world.

Check out the OP's (Kawilos) other contributions to the forum. He was racing the bike if I recall correctly.  :028:

Tighten it 'til it strips then back it off half a turn.

Z CUP it's currently only in Portugal: https://zcup.pt/es/

The spects are the same that Spanish/European Z CUP: https://zcup.pt/es/o-kit-copa-zcup-z900/

I have spoken with several Spanish zcup riders and they used OEM gearing for all races, also I have tried to get the specific BITUBO suspension without success.

I came across a UK z900 / or naked race series post about a week ago. I shared it on the z900 facebook group - i will try  find it and share.

Just had a chat with my suspension guy (k-tech) and he suggested we try retro fit a ZX10 or SUZUKI GSXR shock into the z. Anyone on here has done that before?? .. Said the k-tech r replacement is not track focused really.

Also suggested fork rebuild with new cartridge's.
