    Stock rear tire wearing fast?

I have a 2021, just a little over 1,500 miles but ive noticed the rear tire is already squaring off, I was riding on a trip with a friend and he noticed that every time i was doing hard rips from a stop he was seeing tire marks on the pavement.  Assuming the stock tires are crap and this is just normal wear?  If you upgraded your tires what did you go to that provides better grip/wear without too much of a sacrifice as I feel im only going to get 1 season of riding out of the stock rear tire.

    >>Assuming the stock tires are crap and this is just normal wear?<<

Your OEM tires were great when you got them. You're applying abnormal abuse.

A good rider can obliterate your rear tire in less than 100 miles. You're doing fine.

Trust what your friend told you.

    Increase your tire budget.

The best part about the oem tyres is that they don't last very long!  :004:

My OEM Dunflops lasted two weeks before I took them off. They weren't worn, they were crap.

Correction. I blew it, again. "Great" should not be used to describe my opinion of the OEM tire. Horrific would be a closer description of my own experience.

zed9 posted a comment that got me to wondering. He is correct. Thanks.

The Sportmax Roadsport 2 (73W) Dunlop was a safety hazard on the rear. The front was great.

I referred back to my own maintenance log dated 11/11/18 @ 3,900 miles.
The steel belt was exposed on both sides, chunks of tread were tearing loose, the tire was near to blowout from overheating from friction while at 36 psi. I attributed the condition to rider error.

I dodged a bullet. That tire should be discontinued. Any company that uses it for OEM equipment is heading towards trouble.  The tire is rated for 168 mph at 680 pounds.
