ABBA Stand - I feel much better now
on: July 24, 2021, 07:39:02 AM
I really like the ABBA Sportbike Stand. as I no longer feel a bit "iffy" when lifting the rear of the bike. Whoaa, there she goes, lost my grip on the back end, LOL. I mean, it's not all that difficult using a regular paddock stand... I have a Woodcraft, used it many times and it's very stable.

Having the ABBA front package option, I like how I can raise the front end at the same time without having to use yet another stand for the front. The ABBA will take up less space when I store the bike for winter.

There are a few niggles with the ABBA, such as making sure the side pins are placed correctly and locked properly. And I'm not sure how much side to side jostling it would take for the pins to pop out. I'm thinking it would be a LOT of movement, like basically throwing out all of one's common sense.

Anyways, I don't plan on using it much for maintenance like fork or tire removal (but it would make it easy to replace the rear shock). It's just easy and safe to use when I want to do some front end/wheel clean-up and chain cleaning/lubing.

Photos for those who might be interested in how it does it's thing with a Z900.

 I have the same set-up and 100% agree with RR's comments.  :821:
Tighten it 'til it strips then back it off half a turn.

I had the ABBA stand when I owned a Triumph Sprint ST1050 with a single sided swing arm, it was brilliant for that, but I sold it with the bike.
I just have the conventional rear with bobbins and front with the central stem lift for the Z but they work well.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure!

That sky lift is on my shopping / Christmas list. Looks terrifying though. It just constantly falls over in my ridiculous, over thinking scenarios.

What? You squat under there to avoid bird poop falling from the sky?  :001: :150: :158:

Abba for me too!  And love it.  I cut a little of the plastic molding away with a dremel so I don't need to take the plastic guard off anymore.
Minor mod.  Had this since my last cb650f.
Returned from a ride and time to clean and lube the chain!

Yep, I keep eyeballing the dremel... looking at the guard. Eyeballing the dremel... looking at the guard.  :084:
