Leather is for trailer queens and garage kings. Won't hold up to the sunshine nor washing. It needs constant oiling and then is slippery. It does look better though.

I like the grippy vinyl on top and the slick on the sides.  Maybe some red stitching for you?

Think of your seat as a triangle ... the front upturned horn needs to keep you planted into the back and not allow braking nor downhills to cause forward slide.  The 2 butt corners should be upturned a little bit so you can feel the corner G forces.  You shouldn't bottom-out the center against the bones.

When the seat is just right everything improves.

My hunting buddy has two Harleys... I should refer him to Seth for a great leather seat. He shines and polishes on them WAY more than he rides 'em, lol.

I worked on the Corbin tonight, previous owner spilled something on it and it was starting to look pretty rough. Skidmore's cream absorbed in real good, looks and feels a lot better now. It has a carbon fiber like texture, not slippery at all. When you say grippy vinyl on top... are you referring to Seth's Carbon Fiber Textured Vinyl ? I was initially thinking that on the top and smooth black vinyl on the sides, with all black stitching.

Yeah, the front lip on the Corbin is good... but not great on rear corners though, and it's too firm (hard) under the buttocks. Thanks for your recommendations and agree with your design description... exactly on target.

I don't know what Seth calls it, it has a manufactured rough surface.

I got to thinking ... you could search and buy persimmon colored thread for your new seat. I doubt that he stocks it. A 1 pound spool ought to cost less than $25.

I had Seth Laam work me up a seat. Very happy with the results. So much more comfortable than the Kawasaki "tall" seat.
Put a 400 mile day on the bike a couple weeks ago and was none the worse for wear (and I'm 60). Highly recommended the seat upgrade.

I wouldn't say the seat is soft (I was expecting it to be softer), the shape/contour of the seat makes all the difference!
Very comfortable.

I was exaggerating about the pillow thing.

I believe Seth knows very well how to make a firm seat, but yet be very comfortable... unlike a lot of other seats. Yeah, it's definitely about ergonomics.
