Depends on how large you want.

I adapted a Joe Rocket magnet tank bag I had saved. Probably 8 years old. Kinda small but does have 3 zipper pockets.

I removed the magnets, folded and cross stitched the flaps under the rear pad.  It's still solid after 24,000 miles and 3 years of riding. There's no metal buckles, straps nor tabs to fuss with. It stays attached to the pad not the frame.

I bought a Nelson Rigg Commuter Lite. Love it. Pretty sleek way to attach but you can mess around and find what you like for attachment. It comes in a larger size as well. Works great for what I need and also serves as a nice little back rest sometimes  :152:

Really? What size do you have and what model? I initially thought mine would be too big for the Z but I think it fits just fine. To each their own. Good luck on your search.

I use a Kriega US-10 and US-20. Fitting the loops neatly can be tricky, but can be done. There's a thread about it at https://www.z900forum.com/index.php/topic,4854.0.html.

the rear seat of the z is so small that no bag would really be effective (for me i guess) - i have 23L hard saddlebags for the times i need storage.  They're easily removable (open, click and remove) for those times i don't want to be so old manish.

this is the one I'm using.  It's nothing fancy, but I don't do "long" hauls.  Day rides, maybe 5-6 hours max is more my thing

It's the perfect size for me, probably quite a bit small for others.  Holds my 32oz water bottle, wallet, garage opener, and room left over for a base layer shirt if temps get a little cool and I need to layer up.

I will say that it's not a "perfect" fit, but it's secure enough that I don't feel the need to worry.

It'd be pretty cool if there was a storage option that replaced the rear seat using the same mount.  Sort of like a bigger seat cowl with storage...that's well beyond my capability though
