Agree with you on the stripes.
In '82 I passed on buying a new GPz. At the time I was riding from Ft. Rucker to Panama City every weekend. Still regret not getting that bike.

That is really nice but 'Kawasakis shall be green ' is the 11th commandment.

They just might make one in green. Which would be awesome. I love the stripes, just not the ones on the tank.
Or maybe continue them straight would be better.

You can still buy one today but you'll pay dearly.
I too have a similar regret so, for a winter project, last winter I bought an '02 zr7S which uses the same air cooled 750cc engine that was in the '82 gpz. Of course the nostalgia isn't there with the body but the engine is. And overall the zr7S is a better bike frame wise. It's only 65- 70 rwhp but I'm enjoying it.
The 7S is the end of Kawi's air cooled era.
I sure wish it had the 82 body work like the ZRX does but I have one of those too, so I'm good.

Nostalgia gets expensive but I still like it.
Best Kawasaki dealer near me says they'll get only 1 of each 50th model. They're asking $2677 for freight and set up. Still checking with other dealers.
Funny, I remember when 70hp seemed like alot.  :152:
