    European exhaust breadbox delete

So I've been skimming the interwebs for a while now to get rid of the breadbox, but all the mid link solutions offered are for US exhausts, which look like this:

The EU exhaust looks like this:

I want to cut after the catalyst and just remove the breadbox and use a slip-on or stock, whichever I need for the occasion.

    There is this popular product:

But it does not fit the EU exhaust, since we have different pipe dimensions as you can see from the picture.

So I am wondering if any of your from Europe with the same exhaust as mine has found an easy solution? If so, please share!  :821:

I thought that we all had the same exhaust up until 2020 where European bikes went to euro 5 and American market didnít.

I could be wrong but I hope not as I have just ordered myself a bread box delete pipe for my 2017 and didnít pay any attention to the details really.  :086:

It might be correct and would make the most sense.

But all I know is that my exhaust looks like this (the EU version) and I have not found a mid link pipe that would fit it "out of the box".

A friend told me the mid link pipe for the pre 2020 exhaust would fit, if you modified the link to the catalyst to a bigger size. But still thinking there might be a ready to go product somewhere, since there must be quite a demand for this from EU.

That's allready 3 MY's of the new, larger diameter muffler.

I don't know about an easy fit either. All of there are old/non-EU dimensions

     That is correct.  :028:
Tighten it 'til it strips then back it off half a turn.

What diameter is the Euro 5 cat?
The previous version is 73mm if I recall correctly.  :084:

Is there any possibility in picking up a used exhaust from a 2017-19 bike in your part of the world?
You may regret chopping up a Euro5 system with legislation and law enforcement becoming ever stricter.

It's about 81-82mm. Just measured it.

My plan is to chop it up in a way that will be revertable.

So my current plan consists the following.

1st cut off the breadbox after the catalyst.
Attach a 63mm to 89mm conversion bit like this and cut it to fitting size. Maybe weld a fitting pipe on both ends for a better connection.

    Then use this thing:

    Then this one:

    Then this one:

I do not have welder myself, so will probably need a bit of help from some workshop. Or maybe buy a welder :001:. Will have to weigh the options...

So, with our currenccy hovering around R17 vs $1.00, the time calls for creativity.
I noticed from pics on this site, and on the FBook site, that the Primary Muffler (bread box) on my bike is dramatically smaller than some of the humungeous units I have seen in pics.
I removed the standard "Slip-On" and started my bike....
    Oh my...what a glorious sound..
I think, with the "small bread box" being Square, the notes generated are just the most awesome BASS, it is brilliant, better than any "Slip On" sounds.
I got a little Stainless end pipe at a spares shop, to finish of my little bread-box, and I went for a ride.
Now I can hear the bike, not too loud, just right, and instantly my gear changes are smoother....
and OOHHhh the most wonderfull "burble-crackle-pop" on the over-run.
The weight saving is 6kg's, and the look is a lot cleaner, I am used to it, the Versys 650 also had a under swing arm xhaust.
I am really chuffed, it is a financial saving, it makes awesome sound, it saves weight,
    Job done
