Yes, everything I could find was not very clear about the engine. Some only say "Kawasaki based", others say "Kawasaki 650 bored to 693", etc, etc.

I believe CFMOTO builds the Duke 390 for KTM, and since 2020 the KTM Duke 790 also.

It was in the 90's today, so I postponed the 2 hour demo ride until tomorrow.

They appear to being going all out in the middleweight class. Link to brochure - CFMOTO Australia Brochure

I agree with this also. They are the enemies of the US.
I used to buy only Made In USA but it is impossible now. So I am actually relieved now when what I want is not made in China.

.  Same here! I get almost excited if it’s anywhere but China! Every once in awhile when I see made in USA I almost can’t believe it!

It is a different world today, whether one likes or not. I'm not surprised that within a day, "China-made crap" has surfaced.

I can't disagree, many China-made items are inferior to what US makers were providing. Emphasis on "were".

It's not like CFMOTO doesn't know how to make a good motorcycle. Race technology filters down to street bikes, regardless of manufacturer.  Another link - MOTO 3 PODIUM

Only problem I have with CFMOTO, is that there isn't much history on these new middleweight bikes. Contemplating on whether to be a lab rat on this CL-X 700. Odds are I won't, depends a lot on how the bike demos and also dealer support. Hankster's is the best dealership in my area with excellent service techs and excellent pricing, moving bikes as fast as they get them. Some guy from Minnesota called them today asking for photos of the used Hayabusa they got in this week.

I just have a problem giving money to countries that practice slave labor and genocide.

    Yah, it's disgusting.

Please don't purchase Nike, Adidas, Converse, or New Balance shoes. Or Bell, Klim, or AGV helmets.

Or Columbia, GAP, LL Bean, Levi Straus, Old Navy, OshKosh, Woolrich, or Under Armour clothing.

No Hoover or Dirt Devil vacuums, and definitely no Victoria Secret lingerie.

And stay away from Apple, Sony, Samsung, Canon, and Microsoft products.

Look away from Ray-Ban glasses, Hush Puppies, Gilette razors, Huffy and Schwinn bikes, and Black & Decker.

And don't take a ride with Uber either.

I think that's the key, the after-sales support. A good warranty and ongoing support more than offsets any uncertainty over resale value IMHO. CFMoto warranty is 3 years unlimited mileage here in AU; is it the same in USA?

Politics aside, it's an interesting option. A shame that it's 20kg heavier than the MT07, as the CFMoto looks to have much better brakes and suspension - and at a cheaper total purchase price. It's got freaking cruise control! Kerb weight is a bummer, just like with the previously mentioned Benellis.

I'm sure that KTM, CFMoto, Husqvarna, and GasGas will eventually morph into one global hivemind corporation, and their products and support will continue to be refined.

I believe in the U.S. it is a 2 year warranty, and can be extended to 3 years if proper documentation of authorized dealer service intervals were performed.

Curb weight at 452 lbs. seems a bit much for a 650 twin. The Z900 is only 463 lbs.

I've noticed there are many CFMOTO dealerships in the U.S. but how many actually have motorcycles, not sure. Most are probably ATVs.

Cfmoto is making an effort but are those actually Brembo brakes or knockoffs? And who knows what's inside the forks. It wouldn't be the first time they cheated.
Anyways, Chinese products usually make their shortcomings clear in time.

I've ridden the bike... they bite like Brembos. But I cannot confirm if they are knock-offs or not.
