Oil level in sight window is like others… hardly visible on side stand, and shows actual level when bike is upright. User Manual says to check oil level in sight window when on side stand. I disagree with that statement.

It's the same way on my adventura. I know why they can't change my owners manual but why can't they update the owners manual PDF on their website?

It seems like it may be a big deal. I sent CF USA a message about this and I will relay here when or if they reply.

So you did the trade... how do you like the Adventura so far?

Oil level could be an issue if following User Manual instruction. When bike is on side stand, the level is just below the bottom of window (well below level line C). When upright, the level is at level line A. I wonder how many mL of oil is between those two levels? Only way to know is to slowly add oil when on side stand, keeping track of mL added until you reach level line A. And then be prepared to suction out the oil you added.

When purchased and also after break-in service, my oil is at level line A with bike in upright position. The Z900 manual indicated upright for oil filling.

There’s too many variables with a bike on the side stand. There’s only one position that can be described as upright.
Cfmoto should issue a sticky back addendum that is placed over the faulty page in the manual. Or just ship out new manuals.

So far I really like it. I sent CF moto USA a message asking about the oil level question and they sent me a PDF amendment of that page and it listed many other bikes. Not sure how to attach an image or the PDF here.

Hey rooster you should come to the cfmoto forum here. https://cfmoto-forum.com/   They don't have the 700 CLX yet but they add bikes as they are requested. I'm already there in the adventura forum. You can also see my YT video walkthrough here:

    Nice walk-around video.

    What did the amendment say?

I posted a photo on the CFmoto forum. It basically said many different bikes are now read in the upright position.

Posting a photo on this forum was a little more complicated.

Thanks... I just now found it on the CFMOTO USA website, under Owner's Manual Addendums.

    https://cfmotousa.com/portals/0/OM-Addendum-2022-Motorcycle-Oil-Level-Inspection_20220426.pdf

That incorrect oil level instruction could have cost them a bundle. Overfilling the crankcase is not good, and could have resulted in unnecessary warranty work.

When I was doing a coolant change on the Z last year, I went to Farm & Fleet and got a large diameter syringe and small diameter tubing.
It was just the ticket for removing coolant out of the reservoir tank without removing it. Could also be used to remove oil out of the oil filler hole.
