Front end / wheel noise

Hi, just had the tyres changed from the OEM, to maxxis super maxx as they were affordable. I now have a whirring type wind noise that was not there before. It's loud, and doesn't diminish if I turn or add or subtract throttle. The ape that changed the tyres scratched the wheels. Could it be that he also damaged the front bearings whilst fitting the tyres?

The "ape" owes you a new set of wheels. Is the ABS light going off when you start moving? If not the ABS ring or sensor is damaged, I'd suggest more likey a bent rotor rather than damage to a bearing.
Can you put the front wheel off the ground and spin the wheel to help trace where the noise is coming from.

That would be ideal for finding where the problem is (if there is a problem).
If everything checks out fine, it could be that front tire makes noise rolling on the pavement because of tread pattern.

Hi ,thanks for the reply. The ABS is fine, and the wheel spins as normal with just a slight contact with the brake pads. It's like a wind noise, so I'm thinking might just be the new tyre. It's loud though. I was gutted that he scratched the wheels though but touch up paint will sort that. I will check the bearings just in case just thought I might be something else.

Hmmm................also just check the torque of the front wheel spindle.
If over tightened it could make the wheel bearings whine when rolling along with the weight of the bike & rider (might not whine when on a stand as the wheel is not loaded)
