Checking Clutch Plates

Hey,

Dumb me broke my clutch cover. I was adjusting the clutch cable and snapped the arm that holds the cable in place. So I guess I'm replacing the whole cover now. I thought about just replacing the whole clutch pack while I had it opened but I don't know if I wanna spend another $200+ on the bike right now. So my question is how do I check that the clutch plates are still good once I get the cover open?

I've got a 2017 and like many of you I experienced slippage from a mis-adjusted cable. I corrected it right away but I'm worried that it slipping may have damaged the plates.

Thanks for the response. But no, unfortunately it's a part of the actual cover that broke off for me.

Since I have to take the cover off anyway I was trying to determine what the process for checking my clutch pack is to determine that it still has a good amount of life left. If it doesn't I'll want to just swap it out while I've got it open.

A little JB Weld and that would be good as new!   


All kidding aside.... you just measure them.   Although I did JB Weld my cover where it had been dropped and that got covered by a cover designed to protect my bike in case it gets dropped.     There is some irony involved in that fix.
