Ha yeah well I am 64, been riding since I was about 12.
Pulled up for a break and a coffee on a ride a little while ago, and a guy came up to me and said "your to old to be on a bike like that" I just smiled at him, jumped on the bike and gave it heaps as I took off ripping through the gears with the quickshifter.
Sort of makes you think you look like an old fool to other people, it got to me a bit. I know it shouldn't but it niggles at me.

I run ultramarathons on mountain trails.   All kinds of people have opinions about what I should or shouldn't be doing in my late 50s and how it is going to impact my knees, ankles, or health in some adverse way.   They also frequently worry that I'll be eaten by a mountain lion or bear so they have all kinds of concerns, most of which have no basis in reality.  I think, most people are projecting their own fears and values and it just comes out of their mouths because humans have the need to express their anxieties.   I don't sit around spending much time thinking about what they should be doing.

I take it back.... I look at the average guy my age and think that they should be exercising and eating better so maybe those are my anxieties.   LOL....

Enjoy your ride.   Life is too short to let other people's anxieties prevent you from letting it rip.

    26 now, bought my Z900 at 24.

While shopping around, I sat on a used ZZR1200 kitted out for touring and felt terrified, like I was throwing a leg over a bullet train. Never rode it. I'm happy I went with the 900.

29 next month - previously owned a Yamaha R125. Wanted a R1 but going from a 125cc to a super bike wouldn’t have allowed me to hone my skills and enjoy riding as much as I am.

Z900 is a pleasant bike, very forgiving and hence very easy to work with. Plenty quick for me! Even if I decide to buy another bike down the line, I will keep the Z900 for life. It’s just such an awesome machine. Hope I can ride as long as some of gents.
