Not happy FFS, Kawasaki ripoff pricing

Kawaski are asking ridiculous prices for spares , My daughter 2019 Ninja 650  has a cracked scratched fairing panel its  only about 2ft square , but Kawasaki want £767 for it !!!!!!  plus another £87  for the 650 graphic ,,

Took the panel to my painter in Uk he can fix it and paint it for £180 it needs a special colorite  Kawasaki  3 layer metal ,,base and orange top coat   ,, and then the decal as well ,  so about £250  ,,

I am now having second thoughts  about being a Kawasaki owner with these ripoff prices,, I look at other spares and parts for my Z900 and am shocked, My Ducatis and other bikes I work on for , are all much cheaper for spares , Paint decals etc  .recently restored a 2016 Honda VFR 800  for a friend and  the cost of parts was much cheaper  including fairings , engine parts and decals , also fixed a fire damged  Benelli Tre 1150  and the spares including complete wiring loom  was only £279  paint work  fairing replacements  and decals in total from Benelli was less than £700,

I thought this sounded like an insane price, and it is .  Here's a Kawasaki UK dealer selling parts.

You can see the most expensive panel is under 240.00

    https://kawasakioriginalparts.com/pages/road-bikes?blockref=99912-0239.64&machineid=6039&year=2019&model=EX650KKFA&country=XX&blockname=Cowling&quantity=1677622276391&type=MC

The decals are overpriced, but even still the most expensive decal is 67.00

This option would have been less, and the paint would have matched.

It pays to shop around and not believe the first price you hear. Motorcycle parts are expensive, but Kawasaki doesn't sell 700 plastic pieces on a budget oriented bike.

Did you know that if you need one (or both) LED Front Daytime Running Lights for 2020-2023 you need to buy front headlight unit because it is sold as a whole and price is huge?

And those lights are delicate so be carefull not to break them. It was brought to my attention when i spoke to my Dealer when bike was serviced, he said another customer broke one when washing his Z900 and both were shocked to discover that when trying to order one daytime running light only to find that Kawasaki don't sell them separately.

I actually visited 4 unrelated Kawasaki Dealers and looked  online all prices quoted were from Kawasakis own price lists  , even the dealers apologised and said find a painter who can do it cheaper ..

my guy has matched the paint perfectly  so its all good

I hope you post a pic of the paint.  I ordered a touch up paint kit and you would have needed to be a pro to use it.  There was no way to keep it as this as Kawasaki was able to.

I meant to say "thin".  It was a chip that went down to the bare metal.  I saw the three bottles and thought "no way".  I'm not sure I even opened them.

Sounds like an opportunity to use brighter LEDs and change up the look a little, unless the actual housing around the running light was broken badly...
