    2017-2019 Seats on a 2020+ Z900?

I can't find an exact answer on this from the few minutes of googling I've done.

I know the EU models have the higher seat as standard since 2020+ and the US models keep the lower seat throughout all years.

I am looking at after market seat options and see a lot that are specific for 2017-2019. Would they not fit on the 2020+ models? They look virtually identical both on and off the bikes from what I've seen. Is there actually a change between the years so the seat wouldn't fit?

You should be fine, any seat for z900 will fit  2017- up to 2023 - as far as I know  there is no modification or change with design. If you unsure, call to Kawasaki dealer. Also other mods like crash bars, or tail tidy should be same. There is only mess with slip ons between European and US models.

I agree.  I also hope that we are right as I just bought the 2017-2019 Ergo Seat for my 2020Z.  I liked the design, stitching and logo as opposed to the "correct" part number for my model year.

Calling dealers is a hit or miss.  I called a few to ask the question and several stated that they didn't know more than just the part numbers were different.  :187:

I would assume that aftermarket seat options would be made to fit in place of the OEM seat so they would also by default have to conform to the standard of form, fit and function.

That's my thought, thanks for your input.

Planning on getting some Bagster seats soon and will most likely go with the 2017-2019 seats. Here's hoping they'll fit as expected.

It's Academic. Got my 2017-2019 seat for my 2020 Z900.

Some assembly required, use dish soap to get the rubber stoppers to pop in with a bit of elbow grease and a twisting motion.  Use an alcohol wipe to clean the area for the foam spacer.

The under pinning/plastic frame is identical to the OEM low/ standard seat, lines up and locks into place just fine.  The new seat will need to be broken in, but it looks great IMO.   :028:
