I have a 2020 and have done this all. Our year needs a tune for any removal of cat/addition of headers as the bike will run too lean and hot.
As for options I went with a BlackWidow header as it’s a larger inner diameter than stock and actually has performance benefits unlike other systems. It’s paired with an SC Project slip on designed to go on stock pipes so I know the BWs will work with slip ons

The Akro slip on pipe size is different, more than the Black Widow, that's where the problem lies.
Rob 900 ran into this but after a couple different things had a muffler shop swage pipe to fit, easy fix.

Alright I finally pulled the plug and let the dealer order the Akra  :047:
It will probably take 3-4 weeks or more, but atleast I know that it's coming now.

I called 2 dealers and they both told me that most of the people (pretty much no one) tunes the bike.
Both dealers also say that they usually do not block the AIS.

I don't know what to do now, let them block the AIS or not?

I wouldn't be relying on those dealers....
Read everything that's talked about on here, I'd definitely want to tune it + get the most out of adding a full pipe.
If not, why not just leave it stock?

AIS- Can block off the hose yourself for about $9 with 2 rubber caps from any parts supply place, 10 minute job to do.

The believe most people don’t do it because most people won’t tell their dealer that they’ve altered major components of the engine. I would absolutely tune it and not run this risk of running lean. Blocking AIS is to get rid of the popping on decel that comes when removing the cat

Thanks a lot for the advice guys!

I found a tuner here in Holland that's kind of close to me (https://www.carmo.nl/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=3_4935_3367_5498) - hopefully they can tune it.
The AIS will definitely be blocked, I will ask the dealer to do this. I'd rather not open up the bike myself.

Can't wait for the pipes... it will probably take between 2 to 4 weeks they told me  :002:

U dont need open the bike to block ais! Forget that word - dealer!  :008:

When you will flash ur ecu, a tuner will disable ais in software, you will have just to block tube going to airbox. You can reach with fingers that tube and block it on the right side of the bike, right between fuel tank and the frame/engine. You can put a vacuum 1/2 and 5/8 size plastic caps on it or others put a marbel 😁

    Thanks a lot!
I checked it out as it seemed way too simple in your picture.. but you're right you can do it easily yourself without opening it up...
    I'll be ordering these: https://www.amazon.com/Dorman-02253-Bypass-Cap-Assortment/dp/B002ERXXF6?dchild=1&keywords=vacuum+bypass+caps&qid=1615672249&sr=8-3&linkCode=sl1&tag=amazondudeyou-20&linkId=ffebc02c11e5735af3e84fe7ed186ea6&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl
The reviews also say it works on the Z900.

Another question, would a already made fuel-map work for my soon-to-be setup?
I'm not sure if this tuner does a custom tune on the dyno..
I sent an e-mail to ask if they dyno or not.

it is simple as 2+2 :)

regarding your tuner, you better ask him directly what they do, how they do etc.  i cant locate on the web ur gave if they have or do dyno.
you can always send ur ecu to UK based or Moore Mafia tuners, your set-up is pretty common, so they will have a similar tune
