Question about cat delete / headers

I have a 2023 and have done the breadbox delete but kept the cat intact. I have a Leovince LV Pro slip on and it all sounds pretty good at certain revs but kind of meh at others. A little hard to explain, but when at steady lower RPMs I dislike the sound the exhaust makes. Higher revs and going throughout the revs sounds pretty good.  I definitely plan to get the Leovince headers to match in the near future, maybe this summer, but I was wondering will adding headers or drilling out the cat change the exhaust note? I know it will make it a little louder, but since it will be more free flowing do you think it will sound better?

    Very little, if at all.

It’ll definitely be louder but I think the slip on decides if it’s better or not. I have black widow headers with an SCProject CR-T and while I absolutely love the sound, it’s beyond loud and I have to ride with ear plugs in (I think everyone should but that’s for another thread)

The "can" certainly makes a difference, shorter = louder.
I have a full Black Widow system with their 300mm hexagonal carbon fiber can (has DB killer) and it's got a really nice tone / rumble but will get somewhat louder with higher RPMs.
    Doesn't draw unwanted attention :725:  :028:

Without a doubt the can can make all the difference as far as how loud it is, but keeping the can he has and just changing the headers for a more open flow will likely just make it louder. OP was asking if the sound would be better but I think that’s a subjective question. I personally like the sound of mine despite it being loud as all hell. I know some people don’t like that though so “better” is kinda hard to figure out

Lol yeah I'm definitely not trying to make it louder. I had a SC Project CRT with the breadbox delete and while it sounded incredible it was far too loud for me. Even with earplugs after 30-40 min rides it was headache inducing. Doesn't help I was high in the rpms either.

Switched to a Leovince LV Pro and it's awesome. Still plenty loud and has a nice tone to it while also having a baffle I can add in the future if I want to quiet her down a bit. My only complaint is it feels like the cat is changing the tone and making it sound odd to me at certain rpms. This could all be in my head since I'm used to the loud as hell CRT. Probably just going to get Leo headers anyways and do some experimenting myself.

I did the same last season, breadbox delete but left the cat. I got the cat out this year, I can’t tell a difference with my ears and the db meter says a db, but only around 7k.
