    Z900 Aftermarket Clutch Lever issue

    Hi,

I have an aftermarket clutch lever from MZS and the bike won't start on gear. I have tried it multiple times and looks like the clutch switch is not disengaging. Everything else is good but this is the issue.

Does anyone know an aftermarket clutch lever that won't have this issue? Please provide a link.

    Thanks!

Did you snap the little white plastic plunger under the clutch lever when you installed it?

ya, the white plunger is there but it does not fully come out or to say when I look down on it, it's not fully out even when I pull the clutch all the way in.

Cut/grind the pin to the length needed?

Odd, normally the problem is that people snap that off, so it doesn’t work as it should. If you haven’t snapped it off, is it possible to adjust the levers to allow it to come out more or as above, grind it down a bit?

IMO you've done what everyone does (yes I did it) and snapped it off when changing the lever, you will need a new switch.

Take a photo of the switch with the clutch pulled in or take the switch off and take a photo.

On my levers, I have to have them at at least 3 for the switch to disengage.  I need to trim that plunger down because I like my clutch set to 2.

What is yours set at?  If you haven’t already, maybe adjust the lever all the way out and see if it works.

Added MZS clutch + brake levers 2 years ago, no issues. Put on, go ride.
Buying a different lever ISN'T the solution, gotta be something simple- the pin, a slight adjustment to be made...
