    Removing excess oil

My friend just did his own oil change on his z900 and put in too much oil. So we tried to siphon out some via a tube attached to a syringe. I was surprised the clutch is in the way to reach the bottom. I've done this before on my old bike that I have no problem reaching the bottom. Any advice?

Partially or fully drain into a clean container and refill with slightly less of that oil.
Doing a partial drain is much easier with two people.

You mean drain from the drain plug?

Yes. Just make sure everything is clean first.
I had to take my bike back to the dealer because they overfilled. They did exactly this:

    Let some oil out.
    Put plug back in.
Adjust level with some of the drained out oil.
    Two people, easy.
    Do it cold.
