    Changing indicators

Hello, been a while since I last posted. I was in a bit of a dilemma whether to sell the Z900 or not as my insurance as a new rider was extortionate. £2120

Decided to keep it and play along as my renewal is significantly less as I now have a years experience. Many would still consider £1598 to be high but Iím happy with that for now at least.

I was thinking of changing the stock led indicators to sequential indicators. The back ones look fairly simple but am I right in assuming I will have to undo the front headlight for the front indicators?

Has anyone done a job like this? What if any problems should I expect to run into.

    It's super easy.
    Remove the screen.
Then 2 bolts shown in the picture.
Unplug the headlights, running light and indicators and you can lift the whole assembley off the bike.

Only thing to watch out for is that you seat the rubber bungs on the posts correctly when refitting. (you'll see what that means once you lift the assembly off the bike)

Re your insurance premium... for a z900 that is insane. At least it should start to come down slowly over the years.  :005:

    Hey,

I did this a while ago, indicators look good but you might need to change your indicator relay so keep that in mind :)

When i installed the blinkers, all the lights started acting weird and iirc the bike didn't start  :164:

A new realy with only 2 pins fixed the issue  :028:

TST sells a relay specifically for LED indicators. Takes 15 seconds to install and only requires removal of the seat. Hereís a video:

And hereís a video replacing the front signals to give you an idea of the difficulty level. With a couple basic tools itís not too difficult if youíre at all mechanically inclined.
