Yes. I like Kevin Cameron's theory-
"If you want a faster bike, become a better rider."

258 indicated does not mean actual.  My speedo reads high, like most.

4-5% for my Z900 (checked with GPS) with Metzeler M7RR (tyre circumference could alter the result to a certain extent)

I just noticed the 242 kmh GPS reading in corner of the screen.  Much more realistic.  Top speed is very ambiguous at best.  That's why 2 way runs within the hour are standard at Bonneville.  Wind and slope play a large role.  I love the gearing discussions where guys speculate that a very small rear sprocket will push them past 300 kmh :158:
As to ECU limit, I suppose that if the gearing allows getting to the redline, the ECU would actually be limiting top speed.  As far a I know the standard Z900 is not speed restricted electronically.

Let’s all get together and test out that top speed! 😅. Man I wish it wasn’t so cold here in Pennsylvania, I wanna go be rowdy!

    Stock 2020 Z900 (EU Model):
Not max speed but close: saw once 238 km/h (148mph). Not bad considering im 192cm tall (almost 6ft4) and I can't hide under the windshield  :001:

I had a clear stretch of highway a few days ago and was 20-120 in a flash, then it was climbing slower and it got a tad bumpy so I backed off. I’m really going to experiment in the spring. I am getting my ecu flashed, and I’m getting some new tires. That should change things a bit.
