    Caliper retaining pin

I can't get my rear brake pads top suit securely in the caliper.  The retaining pin came out and I put back in correctly I think but the pads just sit against it and are completely loose.   Aren't they supposed to be secure against the retaining clip?

    Can anyone please help...
So frustrating to take 10 minutes to get pads out and just spent 1 hour trying to figure out how to sit new ones in properly

Spread them apart as if you are trying to space them to hold the rotor.   Slide them in place, maybe 1/4" apart, and the rear will lock into the caliper body.

Now press them down, with the back locked in place and install the pin.

You also need to push the piston back into the caliper.  Yours needs to slide back in @ few millimeters.

Otherwise, it's good.  You did a good job cleaning the caliper so this will be easy.

Thank to you very much for info...

I ended up doing just that.... the pads are pressing against it only I thought the pads were supposed to be set against it so that they don't move even before installing the caliper....

But I just held the pads in the correct spot and installed the pin and the bolts and it is fine...

Thanks again.... was going crazy trying to figure out how it went...

Im glad you got it.   This job is frustrating because it's so simple, but if you don't do everything in the correct order, they won't go back together. At times, it looks like the pad is wrong. I felt like a total tool the first time I changed mine.

The ebc HH pads have a lot more power than our stock pads.  It's much easier to lock up the rear wheel.   With abs, no big deal.  You'll probably like having a functional rear brake you don't have to stand on to apply.

You probably know this, but verify your work  by making sure they don't drag.  The rear wheel should spin about like it did with the stock pads.

Also, when you pushed the piston back in, the fluid level when up in the master cylinder be reservoir.  Make sure it isn't overfilled with the new pads.
