I thought I saw one artist conception of the z900 with bodywork similar to what Yami did with the FZ-09 to make it into the FJ-09. I thought that's what Kawasaki was going to make instead of an H2 based touring bike.
Maybe in Europe they'll have a bigger demand for the H2 touring bike. I can't see them selling a lot of them in the US, especially if they cost more than a regular H2.
I've seen one H2 on the road in my area.

I'd look hard at the Versys 1000 if they made it lighter and used the 900 motor out of the Z9. Could use a bit of updating on the looks as well. Looking around, so far the Tracer 900GT ticks all the boxes for me. I've already rode an FJ-09 so I know what the ergos and the motor is like. Likely will sell my R1200RS this spring and pick up a Tracer when available.

Lightweight is the way to go.
Early this riding season I stopped with a buddy at a resteraunt on a country road. When leaving the place I see this Harley guy standing by my bike. What is it? He asks. I told him and uncharacteristicly (for a Harley guy) he said..It's nice, and it looks sooo light.
I told him it was pretty light. He looks over at his 900 pound pile of chrome and tells me it's getting so that he hates throwing a leg over his bike. I told him that unfortunately it's part of his Image. He laughed and it turned out we both are electricians working for the same contractors. Small world.
Then we talked about this one smoking hot woman who was also in the resteraunt. Then we rode our separate ways.

Moral to the story...light is the way to go.
